Money Matters

RMB By popular request, here are the rates for the upcoming Fall 2007 semester of Kindermusik with Sarah classes.  I have done my best to keep prices at the same level as they were, but you will notice a few small increases.  These are due to a price increase for At Home Materials costs from Kindermusik International, and the unpredictable cost importing materials to China.  Tuition remains the same, and there are some great discounts and free Kindermusik CDs to be had by registering for classes before August 15th

You can also save even more by enrolling now for back-to-back sessions of Village or the new Sign & Sing sessions.  As always, sibling discounts, make up classes and prorated tution for families who are unable to attend a full session due to travel commitments or relocation requirements can be arranged on a case by case basis.  Please contact me about your situation and I will do my best to accomodate your family’s needs. Coming in September to a Kindermusik class near you!

Posted by kmwithsarah on 27 Jul 2007 | Tagged as: KM Information, Useful Information

I’m knee deep suitcases, but here, finally, are the curricula coming your way for Fall 2007.  The schedule was finalised July 14th, 2007 and posted here.  I am looking at the calendar and considering moving the last 2 weeks of the session in to January 2008.  I will post an update here, and make any changes on the online schedule, as soon as possible.  As always, I offer prorated tuition for families that know at registration they will be unable to attend a full session of classes.  Contact me with your situation, and we’ll see what we can work out to get your family in a Kindermusik class this fall!

And now, without further ado, the Fall 2007 curricula line up!  New classes, new locations, and lots of musical learning fun for children from newborn to age seven.

Village (newborn - 18 months)

Feathers
The musical poems of Woody Guthrie, bird songs, and the naturally occurring sounds in nature help babies develop an early appreciation€”and accelerated aptitude€”for language, movement, and music in this eight-week semester. Your
At Home Materials include over 25 specially-selected recordings from class, Little Bird Shaker instrument, and Art Banner for the nursery wall that strengthens vision and promotes early literacy.

Do-Si-Do
Pick up your baby and dance. Do the Charleston, the Tango, and the Cha-Cha and learn why dancing with your baby helps her develop vital learning skills€”from head to toe. In this eight-week semester, play over 25 unique instruments and home-made activities. Your At Home Materials include over 25 specially-selected recordings from class, a Yellow Do-Si-Do Clacker, and Art Banner for the nursery wall that strengthens vision and promotes early literacy.

Our Time (18 months to 3.5 years)

Wiggles and Giggles
The more than 30 songs, 15 dances, and eight different instruments create these unique music activities, designed to reflect the importance of movement in the life of a toddler. The double-CD set in your
At Home Materials features 50 songs, sounds, and recordings of favorite activities from class, plus two story books to develop early literacy skills. Also included is a specially-made zig-zag block instrument to develop rhythm and hand-eye coordination.

Imagine That! (3 to 5 years)

See What I Saw
In this 15-week semester, your preschooler uses his real experience playing in the park to create imaginative, story-telling scenarios with music. Each week provides your preschooler one uninterrupted session of imaginative play that’s guided in a very specific, sequential way€”with a special Family Sharing Time with you in the last 15 minutes of class.
At Home Materials include a CD, Family Activity Book, “Grasshopper Park” game board, plastic and metal slide whistle instrument, and backpack.

Young Child (4.5 to 7 years)

A pressure-free approach to learning, but concrete enough because his mind is ready for the more abstract thinking processes that music requires. Play remains the primary way a young child learns, so throughout the curriculum there is a consistent effort to balance active learning with the emotional reasoning aspects of a young child€™s development in mind. At Home Materials include Children’s Folder, Music At Home cards & stickers Games Bag, Family Songbook, Home CD, and Carry Bag. Instruments can include glockenspiel w/mallets, dulcimer, and recorder.

Family Time (a mulit-agelevel class for families of all shapes and sizes!)

New! Movin€™ & Groovin€™ is a romping, rolling, stretching good time for the whole family. This ten-lesson unit of Family Time will explore lots of different ways to move€”high and low, fast and slow, zigzag, curvy, and more. Family members will chug around the classroom like trains, clip-clop like horses, and roll over like puppy dogs. They€™ll hear a story about playing tag together in Can You Catch Me?, and read about a jungle hokey-pokey in Put Your Left Paw In. Show your best groovin€™ moves€”it€™s time for Movin€™ & Groovin€™.

New! Sign & Sing Sessions A and B (6 months to 3 years)

Session A: Everyday items around the house€”a ball, bubbles, mom and dad€”become the objects of learning in the classroom and at home. Parents learn the sign language methods of experts, such as making the sign in front of a child, on a child€™s body, and knowing when a child is most engaged and ready to learn. Easy-to-understand, and lots of fun, your family will learn sign together through music.  All caregivers are encouraged to attend together!

Session B: This session reviews the first three Keys to Signing Smart Success„¢ and provides an in-depth look at the final and fourth Key. New concepts such as in and out, up and down, big and little, tall and short will be explored with more songs and animal-themed activities.  ***Please note! Session A must be completed before your family can attend Session B as it builds upon the first session.***
