Class Fees and Missed Class Policy (or why you don’t lose you money when you get the flu)

One of my goals with Kindermusik with Sarah is to make music accessible to all sorts of families with children here in Beijing.  I try to keep my prices reasonable because I understand kids are expensive.  Fantastic, loveable, hilarious, inspiring and worth every cent you spent to give them the very best start in life, but keeping little people fed, housed and happy can take more RMB than you expect.

Its also whay I try to keep class locations close to where you live, and to be as flexible as I can about missed classes.  Kindermusik with Sarah offers refunds only in the case of unplanned and unavoidable life events (think serious illness, death or deportation), and only on a case by case basis.  But fear not!  There are many ways to ensure your child can attend Kindermusik with Sarah classes without cancelling the family trip to Sanya! Believe in Music

Posted by kmwithsarah on 29 Aug 2007 | Tagged as: All that other stuff, KM Information

“Music is a language.  The more you ’speak’ it, the more fluent you become.  An early and sound foundation is what makes music a lasting component of a child’s life.  Would we say ‘my child can talk already, so will no longer require English grammar or literature classes in whatever grade?’

I may be retired from Kindermusik physically, but in my heart I will always be an advocate.  I talk to so many parents of college age children who say their kids are musically what they are today because of what we did together in Kindermusik a long time ago.

- quote from Jacqueline Landis, retired Kindermusik educator

Recent news reports have highlighted the recall of some toys found to be unsafe. These reports have understandably raised concerns from parents.  I want to be sure you know that Kindermusik shares this concern.

For years Kindermusik has gone to great lengths to assure the safety of our products. That is why parents have come to trust the Kindermusik brand. Kindermusik products are engineered to be educational, entertaining and safe before they enter into production.  Production samples of each product are then rigorously tested by an independent testing lab to ensure that our toys meet the highest safety standards. Transitions

Posted by kmwithsarah on 05 Aug 2007 | Tagged as: KM Information, Useful Information

I am often asked by parents about Kindermusik’s age levels and when to move a child to the next age group.  The stated age ranges are just a reference, but I am generally inclined not to push children into an older age group.  They are only young once, and there are many years to come where they will need to deal with the pressure to achieve.  That said, each child should be considered individually.  If  your child can do most (but not necessarily all) of these things, she is probably ready to switch.
